ADVERTISEMENTS ARE BAD! NO TO THIS PAGE C Is for Cookie 01:29, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't really think it's an advertisement. It's just a crappily-made article with no redeeming qualities. --ニョロトノ666 01:58, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Don't forget, as well as deleting the main article, we need to delete the talk page also! MoldyOrange 02:44, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
dont we have Serebii.com as an artcle? MAGNEDETH 02:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I like this article. Not the quality of course (what's with having a Pokemon infobox), but Marriland is a well established site, and this is not advertising. There's other articles on useful sites, such as Serebii. I just cleaned it up. I vote it stays. Porygon-Z 02:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
if this site allows other sites to be included, then i think it should be here. but if its an advertizing issue or, whatever, then, it would make sence to delete. but we have Serebii, so, thats why i brought it up. MAGNEDETH 02:53, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. This isn't like that article someone made earlier about their own site. Porygon-Z 02:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, so we aren't going to delete it, Aww! MoldyOrange 02:57, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
And oh yeah, every Pokemon page links to Marriland's dex. Porygon-Z 03:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay. Marriland is not a website. He's a person, and not a very notable one at that. Deletion. --ニョロトノ666 23:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

NO to deletion

I think we need to raise "awareness" of some pretty good websites like this. Plus, who cares if it's crappy, somebody will eventually clean it up and make it look better.

We already have an article on Marriland Forums. We don't necessarily need a page on its webmaster. --PAK Man Talk 20:24, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I find that the forums shouldn't have an article. That's just a part of the website. If anything, there should be an article for Pokemon.Marriland.Com Porygon-Z 20:26, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
We don't have pages on The Echidna or Purity, and they're webmasters of Zeo!. Marriland himself can get mentioned on the article for the website. TTEchidna 23:35, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Well how 'bout we move it to Pokemon.Marriland.Com and clean it up? Porygon-Z 23:39, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
No. We should delete it and be done with it. I've met Devin, and he doesn't really meet the notability criteria. --ニョロトノ666 23:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Someone curious about Marriland or Marriland Forums might easily search for this; my vote is to simply redirect this page to the Marriland Forums page. If there's notable info on Marriland himself worth mentioning, it can be done there. Anyone against that idea? -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 20:07, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Azurilland Marriland split

Well, we need to split this page. Marriland has been let go by the Curse company and the Marriland Forums are now the Azurilland Forums. [1] The Marriland name will still belong to Devin and he is planning to rebuild his site from scratch, but the forums are no longer his. Adamws (talk) 20:24, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

How and what is exactly going to happen? Is Marriland Forums going to become Azurilland Forums and Marriland Forums is going to disappear, than yes we should move this page, but if Marriland is going to continue to exist but as something else then we should just create that page (Azurilland Forums) and state here that the Forums have been moved there. --Raltseye 07:53, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
The forums and site are both now "Azurilland" owned by Curse, but Devin still owns "Marriland". Sometime in the future, he plans on creating another site called Marriland. --Abcboy (talk) 11:14, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Due to recent events regarding the naming of the website and the general history of the website, there is no longer a need to split this article. MaverickNate 10:51, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

Severely Outdated

This page is severely outdated as several things it mentions simply don't exist on the forums anymore. Adopt a Newbie was phased out years ago due to a lack of users coming into the forums and it misses the fact that we have left Curse and have rejoined Marriland. I updated the staff list a while ago, but that is like putting lipstick on a pig. Overall I feel the page needs an overhaul, but I'm very much inexperienced with Bulbapedia to feel like I'm capable of doing it. If anyone would like to help me, that'd be great. (VarhII (talk) 19:48, 11 May 2019 (UTC))

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with forums either, so I definitely won't be of any help. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:25, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Proposed clean up to meet standards

I propose we eliminate large portions of this page in order to not just clean it up, but match it up to the style of the Serebii.net page, a similar sort of article on a fan website with a forum. The sections I propose eliminating include

  • The entire Services section. We do not need to mention the adopt a newbie and the team builder mention can be shifted in to the introductory paragraph.
  • Past staff. I really don't think we need this when other pages don't mention it. Plus, it's quite useless. We can't and won't ever get the full dates for most of these people anyway - it just seems like vanity for some of these people to keep them.
  • Oekaki. Irrelevant nowadays, and can be a brief mention that this used to be a service offered by Marriland.com in the history section.

With this, I do think that this will be streamlined to the point of the page being useful and it can be spruced up to Bulbapedia's standards a lot easier. --InfernoPlato (talk) 17:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Return to "Marriland" page.
