Do we really need to colorize the tables? TTEchidna 23:52, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Ow. My eyes. The red and black tables are really... owww... TinaTheKirlia ♥ 23:54, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

forgot to mention IV gen pokemon how you got their color (boxes)

The data. We get the GenIV Pokémon from the game data. 281Tina380 03:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

What color is Dialga? (It's not in the blue...)--Bulbmond 23:05, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Bulbamond TALK STUFF

hey dont you think we should have a page like this but for their shiny color? i think that would be helpful but i wouldnt know how it would look and im sure it would be hardHappizelpom 09:42, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Happizelpom

That would be a good idea but hard to pull off. This page is based on game data which doesn't exist for the shiny forms. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 13:59, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

just make it like:

purple: wurmple magcargo etc.

does that work?Happizelpom 19:07, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Happizelpom

The problem is that the Pokédex (which is where you can do a search by color) does not recognize alternate coloration, so there would most likely be arguments over which color the shiny Pokémon are. Plus, there are no shiny versions of the small sprites used in the table. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 19:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

you could just write it like i did you dont have to have a pic, but if you do then use the pics that are on the pokemons pagesHappizelpom 22:04, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Happizelpom

Placement

If Munchlax is literaly blue, why is it under black? And why are Mareep and Dialga in white if Mareep is yellow, and Dialga is blue and silver? GuyNamedSean 18:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Because it's how the in-game coding lists them. Trust me, there are a few other entries that make little sense; someone actually got blocked for edit warring just because they kept changing Golbat's in-game coding-based color field in the infobox to read "blue" based on its appearance (Golbat is listed as purple), even claiming they wouldn't let anyone--even sysops--replace his "correct edits" (the false blue listing) with "false ones" (the correct purple listing based on the coding). --Shiningpikablu252 18:56, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Gen IV has the main color data in it? I thought it wouldn't, you can't search for Pokémon by color anymore. Sean... Lord of the Shadows!!! 04:44, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
The boxes, when you hit them to move quickly between them instead of using L/R. The little colored squares are representative of the color of the Pokémon according to this list. TTEchidna 21:07, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Order

Shouldn't the Pokémon be ordened by National Dex Number inside their color category? I mean, there's no special reason for ordering them alphabetically here and in by Ndex elsewhere, is there? Mr. Charlie 03:17, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

This was never answered, and he's got a point. The Manual of style says National Dex order unless a good reason otherwise, why is this page different? Zappyton 18:42, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Beats me. Alphabetical's just as reasonless, and it's not like we follow alphabetical with the new guys... or Reshiram and Zekrom, for some reason. TTEchidna 20:21, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Shinies: Green and Different Shades of Pink

Did anyone notice that most Shiny pink Pokémon have green in their shiny sprites and if not green they most likely have a different shade of pink in it.

List

List of Pink Pokémon that do NOT apply

Hmm . . . Half of these are yellow? *sigh* not notable really.

  • Corsola (Yellow)
  • Gorebyss (Yellow)
  • Lickilicky (Yellow)
  • Luvdisc (Yellow)
  • Mew (Blue)
  • Milotic (Several Colors)
  • Miltank (Blue)
  • Slowbro (Purple)

List of Pink Pokémon that SEEM to apply

These, people would most likely argue about whether they apply or not.

  • Porygon
    • It's shiny form is very light pink in color and it's also just as much blue.
  • Skitty
    • It's shiny is actually very close between Hot Pink and Red.
  • Snubbull
    • Snubbull has pink in it's shiny but it's only in the form of small pink dots.

Sorry that this is a bit of a lengthy comment. But all I ask for is a short simple trivia note saying:

  • Many of the Pink Pokémon strangely have rather Green or a different shade of Pink in it's sprite.

Essentially all I'm asking for is if this is notable enough. -- Landfish7 21:57, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm still waiting for a reply. :3

It's been 17 days and I still haven't a reply. I don't mean to be pushy but I am anxious to know if this is o.k. -- Landfish7 20:29, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm inclined to say no. —darklordtrom 20:52, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Red looks too pink

Why was the color for the Red color category changed to a pinkish color? The orangeish-red color was appropriate for the Red category as many Red-category Pokémon are actually colored orange. Andros 1337 17:11, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Virizion's Color

I may sound stupid when I ask this, but shouldn't Virizion's color be Green? Hydra 02:24, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, Virizion's color is Green. Thanks for pointing that out. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 02:38, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Wow

Thank you to whoever changed the colors of the tables. My eyes do not hurt anymore. Thank you very much. ThatOneKid 15:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Those colored section headings...

I feel that the colored fonts used on the section headings are garish and unnecessary (especially given the neatly-colored tables). However, glancing through the history, it would appear that they've been there since the very beginning 7 years ago (note this was prior to the colored tables), and I could find no indication that they've ever been challenged or discussed.

So I ask to be certain: Does anybody object to their removal? ExpHP (talk) 18:03, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Update: Under a policy of "edit first, discuss later", I decided to make the edit. If anybody disagrees with this change, please feel free to revert my edit and discuss it here! ExpHP (talk) 18:31, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Yellow's was absolutely horrible. Some of the rest also had some claim to being annoying, but they weren't outright assaulting your eyes. Yellow could possibly have been "fixed", but they indeed aren't necessary. The big ol' tables represent the colors just fine (and after a fashion better, on their own). Megas and Other Notable Forms

Should we add Megas? Mega Charizard X is Black so it's different than Charizard. I tried adding Mega Venusaur but it was too hard. So if maybe you could add the megas and such! Theexploringgamer (talk) 18:51, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Please read the first sentence of this article very carefully. This page is about what the Pokedex recognizes. It is definitely *not* about what we perceive as a Pokemon's primary or dominant color. Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:08, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Alolan Pokedex Color Sorting

So I'm noticing something interesting about how the new pokedex in Sun and Moon handles the sorting by color of pokemon, in particular Alolan forms vs. original forms. As an example, I have caught an Alolan Rattata, and have seen a regular Rattata in battle. When sorting by the color black, Alolan Rattata shows up, and when the entry is selected, it notes that this is an Alolan form. When sorting by purple, an unshadowed (i.e. "caught") entry is brought up for regular ol' Rattata, with what I can remember an identical text entry (could be wrong on this point, but nonetheless an entry still showed up). Does this have any impact as to how this list should or shouldn't be sorted, and possibly how the main Pokemon pages on this site list the colors of the Pokemon effected?

Note: I'm not very far into Pokemon Sun/Moon, so progressing further and getting more Pokedex entries (other pokemon with Alolan forms, as well as pokemon like Lycanroc, Oricorio, and Gastrodon come to mind as good entries to crosscheck) might shed some more light on this subject, but for now I'm still very curious.

Edit: I just saw in the history next to the latest update the note "(Doesn't include any form info; that'll need to be added.)" This might address what I'm talking about

Trivia

So I counted how many Pokémon are in each group, with multiple forms only being counted as one. I feel that this list, or at least the most/least common, could be added to a trivia section.

  • Blue - 169
  • Brown - 138
  • Green - 112
  • Purple - 91
  • Grey - 88
  • White - 86
  • Yellow - 79
  • Red - 64
  • Pink - 58
  • Black - 47

G-Max colours?

I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if G-Max Urshifu were indeed listed as being the same colour as regular Urshifu. But is that something we know? Not sure the grey section says "All forms" for it because we know G-Max Urshifu to be grey as well, or because we don't know what colour it is. (Species with only G-Max forms don't make any mention of alternate forms in the table, so...)

Pichugetic (talk) 18:40, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

According to the Pokémon Home Pokédex, both G-Max Urshifu forms are the same color as the non G-Max forms. It seems that almost every Pokémon's G-Max form is the same color except Alcremie which, as shown in the changes section, was white and is now yellow. Since every Alcremie flavor uses the same G-Max form, some Alcremie change their color when they change forms. I believe it would be best to include that information in the page as a fun fact or another section. Something like: "Every G-Max Pokémon shares its base form's color except for G-Max Alcremie, which is yellow." This information would reduce confusion around the G-Max forms, considering how some Pokémon look drastically different from their original like Urshifu.

What happened to all the Pokémon and regional forms introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

Um, excuse me, guys. There haven't been any Legends: Arceus-introduced Pokémon and regional forms included on this list here. So, I wonder what has happened to them? Swampertguy (talk) 22:26, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Miraidon and Koraidon's other forms

Each of Miraidon's modes and Koraidon's builds are considered forms in the Pokedex and on their respective pages, so should we add the "all forms" or "normal" underneath them? Such as how Mimikyu has the "all forms" tag because it has both Disguised Form and Busted Form and they are both yellow. Though I suppose we couldn't use "all forms" since we cannot confirm the color of the extra forms in Pokemon Home like we can for the regular forms, so I guess I answered my own question... Although maybe we should add Ultimate Mode/Apex Build under each respectively since that's the form they are called in the S/V and Home Pokedex's. --Venn (talk) 10:09, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
