The Article needs some TLC

I'm just going to come out and say it, the Gen VI section right away comes off seriously phoned in and slapped-on. It feels like there are huge bits and pieces of the puzzle missing. There is no explanation of what happens next when you communicate. There is also no mention of the infrared option in the mystery gift menu. Some of the other sections also seem to be lacking. What use is this article if it doesn't try to justify its page space? Yamitora1 (talk) 23:33, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

I see your point, we have numerous articles linking to this article which all has there own information on infrared communication, some taking only a line, others entire sections. Why don't you pull what you can from the other articles to make this article better? --Spriteit (talk) 01:50, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
I'm not too familiar with the Infrared feature past the original GSC mystery gift function. I kind of abandoned Nintendo and their handhelds in favor more powerful consoles like PlayStation/Xbox, and I preferred just watching the Pokémon anime. I unfortunately skipped over the original RSE, as well as DPPt, HGSS and BWB2W2. So everything before XY/ORAS is foreign to me and I fear I would mess it up if I tried to patch work info from various articles onto here.
Also, since its out in the open I know nothing of HGSS aside from whatever carried over into them from the original GSC...

"In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, an infrared sensor on the game card is used to communicate with the Pokéwalker."

So, is this saying there is a IR sensor on the game card itself, and not the DS? I'm pretty sure the game cards don't have a IR sensor, but I could be wrong. Yamitora1 (talk) 08:56, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
There is no IR sensor on the Nintendo DS, so they had to put it on the game cards themselves. This is done in HGSS and BWB2W2. Even when played on a Nintendo 3DS (which does have an IR port), these games use the IR port on the game card. --SnorlaxMonster 09:19, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
Return to "Infrared" page.
