Japanese and Korean name etymology

Now this page is unlocked... I propose that the ブル and 불 in their Japanese and Korean names (respectively) mean "bull", as in the animal. Like it's tough-as-a-bull.

The only other possibilities include:

  • 不 = ぶ bu, 불 bul: not, un-
...but 不 usually belongs in the beginning of words.

...that is unless ブル/불 is just a corruption of リブレ/리브레, but... aw, forget it. I'm putting too much thought into this. -- Nick15 (talk) 17:06, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Origin

Along with luchador design, Hawlucha seems to based on eagle warriors which are also a part of Mexican tradition. Phoenix-f- (talk) 20:41, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Aztec, specifically. I got that very same impression the first time I saw Hawlucha in the wild. --Stratelier 17:14, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Physiology Description

How's this for a description?

Hawlucha is a small, bipedal bird-like Pokémon. It has red, cape-like wings that are connected to its tail with turquoise undersides and small clawed hands. It has red chest feathers, a white abdominal area and legs with small yellow feet. It has a turqoise, mask-like face with an orange stripe down the middle, as well as orange rings around its eyes. Hawlucha has a small, red beak, and a white patch underneath it. It also has three orange tassle-like appendages jutting out of the back of its head. Its eyes have black sclera and large yellow irises--BigBadBatter (talk) 22:57, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Name origin

Since it's impossible to be totally sure of a name's origin without a citation, we need to use "may be" instead of "is". I've been reverted on this, so I'm bringing it here in the hopes that someone else will take up the argument with the problem user, since I'm not allowed to acknowledge her existence. Base stats and EV yield

Despite Hawlucha has Speed as its highest stat, it gives out 2 EVs in Attack so is it notable? --Cinday123 (Talk) 00:04, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't exactly see how stats vs. EV yield is really notable, honestly. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 00:26, 4/6/2014 (UTC)
I know, so it wasn't notable, right? --Cinday123 (Talk) 00:31, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Unless if it's the only Pokémon (or one of two) that does not give out EV's in its highest stat, then I would say no, it really isn't notable. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 00:43, 4/6/2014 (UTC)
I distinctly remember a similar discussion happening in edit summaries for at least one other page recently (though I can't remember which Pokemon it was; sorry), and even one of two isn't generally enough to be notable by Bulbapedia standards, so I'd agree that no, it's not notable. Ash's Upcoming Pokemon

I'm saw the facebook [1] which is Ash caught Hawlucha. --Samueljoo (talk) 13:35, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

Until the episode where Ash does catch a Hawlucha airs, it will not be added.--ForceFire 13:42, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
So, I'm have to wait until Ash gets a Hawlucha? --Samueljoo (talk) 00:47, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
Yes.--ForceFire 00:58, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Ash's Hawlucha in M17

Currently, the Other section under "In the anime" reads: "A Hawlucha is set to appear in M17. A Hawlucha is set to appear in the Pikachu short PK26, alongside Pikachu and friends.". Should this be changed so that it says something like "Ash's Hawlucha is set to appear in M17." and "Ash's Hawlucha is set to appear in the Pikachu short PK26, alongside Pikachu and friends."? Quick Question

Hey people, new editor here.

Just for reference (it relates to all Pokémon pages I suppose but I'm discussing it here as I just edited the Hawlucha article), should I/we add the fact that a Pokémon themselves can pass down Egg Moves to their own offspring? Id est, a parent Hawlucha can pass down Baton Pass and Entrainment to a newborn Hawlucha? Or is it not added because it's a moot point? Apart from when no other Pokémon can pass down a particular, such as with Aegislash, Doublade and Honedge?

Thanks in advance!

As I said in the edit summary where I reverted your edit, we list only the most direct way to pass the move. So if Pokémon from the same egg group learn the move by leveling up, we list all of them and only them. If passing the move requires chain breeding, we list parents that pass the move with the shortest possible chain.--Den Zen 18:13, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
