Pokémon Debuts
Can Pidgeot be considered to have debuted in this episode? I don't recall it appearing in the flesh. Vipera 23:25, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly they mention that it's the evolved form of Pidgeotto but I'm not sure if it's shown on screen... I'd have to check my DVDs. ZestyCactus 23:27, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- That's what I remember as well. I'm fairly certain it didn't make an appearance, only a mention, but it is listed as having debuted in this episode by the article. A Pokémon has to appear in the flesh to be considered as having debuted, correct? Vipera 23:35, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's shown in this episode, but as only as a picture when Joe describes Pidgey's evolutionary path and moveset. It doesn't make an appearance in the flesh. CNash 11:25, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Sun and Moon irony.
Okay, the reason I noted the irony relating to Sun and Moon is because this episode essentially showed that Ash didn't even NEED to go to school to be a good trainer, while with Sun and Moon, he's changed his goal to going back to school and, to quote CoroCoro, "to graduate like never before." - What's assumed? Giselle even said there's some things you can't learn at school in reference to her loss against Ash. The intended theme there was pretty clear. And having Ash go back to school in Sun and Moon (and it's made pretty clear he's going back to school in the various promotional spots for the anime) is practically confirmed.
