Pikachu + Thuderstone= Raichu

Uh....I saw a preview of this episode...For some reason Ash shows Pikachu a Thuderstone...Is Ash thinking about evolving his Pika????ShinyPachirisu 00:07, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

It might be the other Pikachu. (Pichu --> Pikachu) TESHIGIGAS RAWR!! 00:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
i say yes, it is his pikachuC Is for Cookie
Doubt it. Pikachu is the icon of pokemon and has most merchandise. Evolving pikachu would be dumb. Don't get me wrong, I love raichu, but pikachu is too popular to evolve. Ash will ask if pikachu wants to evolve, and it'll say no like in EP013 -Dean
I doubt this will happen, but, maybe pikachu will evolve but TR gets a de-evoloution machine and raichu accidentally falls inside nd turns back into a pikachu. ShinyPachirisu 12:47, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

I couldn't possibly have seen this situation before! It defiately wouldn't have been the storyline for Electric Shock Showdown, would it! Glinn 13:00, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Pikachu CANT evolve!!!!!PL12 22:06, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Pikachu will never evolve otherwise people won't watch the show. Come on people! He's the mascot of the whole Pokémon franchise because of he's history with Ash!

I would like to see his Pikachu finnally (sp?) evolve.. It took him alot of seasons. And Pikachu is seen too much , and I like Raichu better. (Also sign your post. :P)

Pikachu is confirmed to still be a Pikachu in movie 11. --FabuVinny T-C-S 15:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Technically, we don't know when the 11th movie takes place yet, for all we know, it took place before Staravia even learned Brave Bird XD Myzou 09:57, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
The movies always take place at the current point in the Japanese airings, which in this case is after Gligar evolves and Swinub is caught. --FabuVinny T-C-S 18:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Pikachu shouldn't be evolved! I can't believe the ep. is showin today! AKgirl23:21, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Is this the first episode in which the heart beat of a pokemon is shown? Is it also the first episode to use a defibrillator? --Chrisriley64

I don't recall if this is the first time a Pokemon's heartbeat is shown, but in the episode A Chansey Operation you briefly hear Pikachu's heartbeat. Shortly before or after this, you see the doctor use a defibrillator on Pikachu in order to boost his energy level. Legionaireb 03:23, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Textless picture...

For some reason MediaConverter refuses to work for me. Anyone else think they can get a textless picture? TTEchidna 21:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Rocket thunderstone

Is it just me or does it seem that Team Rockets possession of the thunderstone will come up later on? Prehaps one of them will be getting a jolteon. Furthermore, is this TR's first successful theft and if so, should it be noted? TheAlmightyChris 14:58, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

We can't say what will happen with the Thunderstone until it happens. This could be setting up one of them obtaining a Jolteon but it might also be used some other way or go unmentioned for another 500 episodes. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 02:46, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Was this the first episode in the entire series to use the term "noob"? I don't think I've heard it (used in the dub at least) any other time, which is kind of ironic, since the game used it sometimes.

  • speaking of trivia, i removed the "possible" explaination for editing out Misty's appearance in the flashback due to there being holes in it. For example, barely any of the new kids remembered Ash's Lt. Surge battle in and of itself, plus they certainly wouldn't remember Ash's Original Series outfit, either. Heck, they gave Caterpie an appearance in a later episode despite only appearing in non-flashback form in two episodes, when most new kids wouldn't even know that Ash had a butterfree, much less that it evolved into from a Caterpie under his care. Heck, May's appearance ALSO brings further holes into that theory since up to that point, she was never referenced in D/P, and most newcomers to the D/P franchise would most likely have never heard of her. As for her not doing much in that episode, Brock didn't do much in that episode either (I mean, the only thing he did in that episode is his telling Ash how to beat Lt. Surge.), and I'm pretty sure HE appeared in the flashback sequence as well. Weedle Mchairybug 14:57, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm Confused

What is the exact reason why defibrillation was a bad thing to do with Pikachu? I'm no medical expert but I've seen television cases of the same exact thing and the doctors used the defibrillator on the patient. I've seen it being used when the patient's heart rate speeds up quickly, and when there is no heart rate. And since 148 is Pikachu's apparent normal heart rate. How is it wrong to use the defibrillator when it drops to 112. --Dman dustin 10:00, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Any stone in particular?

Electric Shock Showdown premiered over a decade before this episode. The Thunderstone is not mentioned at any point between the two episodes. Is this reffering to Ash Thunderstone or any thunderstone at all cause it is mentioned in EP040 when Ash is being offered a Thunderstone to evolve Pikachu, shoulden't this be mentioned then if thats the case? MagPerior 19:22, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Thunderstone.--Midnight Blue 19:44, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing that up, i wasent sure since it isnt mentioned in the trivia above and so on.MagPerior 20:02, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Are the flashbacks accurate? ht14 05:01, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't know about Gyrados flashback scene, but the remaining flashbacks are accurate. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 14:00, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
With Brandon and Regice? And Spearow? It's not mentioned in the synopsis... ht14 00:37, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
True, it's not mentioned in the synopsis but those flashbacks (including Regice standing with Brendon, while ash holding the brave symbol. That spearow scene was the flashback from EP001) were shown in the episode. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 00:41, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, just confirming, thanks! ht14 02:38, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be noted that Pikachu was actually very close to death in this episode?

That's what I'm wondering--Elveonora (talk) 21:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
