STAB Question

Does anyone know if the pokémon then gets STAB with the new type(s) or do they only get STAB for their original type(s)? White Phoenix 02:24, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

A very old question, but I think it deserves an answer. STAB is determined by the user's current type, not the original type. So a Pokémon that changes type through any method (Conversion, Color Change, Camouflage, etc.) will gain STAB on moves of its current type, not original type. --SnorlaxMonster 09:21, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

What if Smeargle knows both Conversion and Curse?

Curse is known as a ???-type move. Can Conversion turn a Pokemon into ???-type? - unsigned comment from Bbbbbbbbba (talkcontribs)

No. It'll fail.--ForceFire 09:34, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
They would have known to program for the situation as far back as Generation II, where Porygon and Porygon2 could learn Curse by TM...--Shiningpikablu252 14:32, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
According to Smogon University, Curse is the only move that cannot be selected by Conversion. White Phoenix 23:59, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

What moves are recognised by Conversion?

What moves does conversion recognise? I know if a Pokemon has Worry Seed, it will turn into a Grass-type. However, I've tried using the weather moves (Rain Dance, etc), and conversion never selects them. So cloud it be that only moves that target the opponent that are selected? I got curious about this question (and despite it being old, it hadn't been answered), so I decided to do a little testing in Black. As of Generation V, EVERY move, INCLUDING the now Ghost-Type Curse can be "targeted" by Conversion. I specifically tested Curse, Agility, Sunny Day and Trick Room. *goes to edit how it works in Generation V* RiverShock (talk) 16:01, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Side game occurences

I'm pretty sure the Porygon in Pokemon Snap were using Conversion. Should it be added? Jdrawer (talk) 19:50, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Is it the only move that interacts with the move list?

I've been searching for moves that interact with the pokemon's movelist, and i'd like to know if this is the only one.
