In gen 3, this trick is not obsolete, and is still functional. For example, a level 50 Zapdos could be fed 10 vitamins, after which its stats would have correctly updated to the new 100 EV value. After that, it can still be EV trained on wild pokemon prior to reaching level 51, stored in the PC, and retrieved in order to update its stats again. This allows for a pokemon caught at or near level 50 to be fully EV-trained for eg. the battle tower. --Sandrew26 (talk) 21:37, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
