Does Bite use the Special Attack stat in Ruby/Sapphire generation?- unsigned comment from Pan (talkcontribs)

The image with the Legend "Ash's Turtwig using Bite." doesn't look a Turtwig using Bite... Mateussf 15:54, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh god I lol'd when I saw Paul and Ash instead of Bite. Tina δ 16:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Someone uploaded a new version of the file. And didn't check what pages were using it. TTEchidnaGSDS! 17:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Flinch

According to other pages Bite has a 10% chance to cause a flinch, at least as of gen IV, is the Gen II effect wrong, or did it get changed in a later gen?--Oryx 02:32, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

- In Generation II onward, its flinch rate has been 30%. 08:40, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Raichu?

Didn't Lt. Surge's Raichu use Bite on Ash's Pikachu? --Kimori Geckarbor Hinoarashi 21:57, 16 October 2009 (UTC) Kimori Geckarbor Hinoarashi Kimori-Hinoarashi

Bite in Gen. V

Apparently, bite in Pokemon Black occasionally makes it such that the opponent is "too scared to attack." This is a new mechanic I assume. --+ Joeshie + (is Mæ!) 06:08, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Isn't that just the Japanese equivalent of flinching? ~ solaris 06:12, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Updated table

I updated the learnset table, but I haven't figured out the breeding table code / any efficient way to do it yet... If someone would like to do that, please. --Gymnotide 13:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

The breeding table works pretty much the same as the level-up one. In fact the only reason they have different templates is so they could have different set widths in order to prevent the template from being a mile long. Just put the list of fathers (in {{MSP}}) in where the level would go if you were using the level template. (Sorry if that's confusing.) Werdnae (talk) 23:08, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I tried updating this page, but there's too many data mistakes for me to fix right now. In Gen II, Jolteon / Espeon / Umbreon can learn Bite from Eevee, but it's not listed in their own movepools. Do we include those three? The same applies for Arcanine, who doesn't learn Bite in Gen II, but Growlithe does. The Father lists on individual Pokemon pages list them, however. Also, under Sneasel, it lists Swinub who can only learn it through an Egg Move. Finally, Gen III list Loudred / Exploud as fathers, but they are incompatible with Bite until Gen IV. I'll try this another time if someone hasn't gotten to it before me. --Gymnotide 02:49, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
Pokémon which learn the move by preevolution should still be included as fathers. I think Charmander would also have had a little difficulty learning Bite from Seviper or the Bagon line in Gen II as well. I've got a little bit of time now, so I'll take care of this one. Ach, saw it got updated on my watchlist. Thanks so much~ This page was a nightmare. --Gymnotide 11:32, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Always flinch?

I remember playing my copy of Pokemon Emerald a few weeks back. I always had Crobat on my team and when I used Bit I noticed every time I pressed A right as the mouth closed during the attack animation that the opponent would always flinch. Same thing for Generation II, not tested this for Generation I, IV, or V yet though. Is it possibly worth mentioning? Frozen Fennec 19:50, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
