No, this is true! Basically you perform the method 3 of the mew trick. The mew/other pokemon usually appears at level 7 but if you use growl six times on the enemy pokemon it will make the pokemon you encounter level 1 (because the byte depends on how many boosts/drops the attack stat has gained, it begins at 7 and goes up to 13 or down to 1) | |||
After obtaining a level 1 mew or a third stage evolution Pokemon there is a bug in the algorithm where the game presumes there is a negative number of experience to level 2 (displayed as a very large number).
