It is a sequel to the original {{ma|Pocket Monsters}} and is succeeded by {{OBP|Pocket Monsters DP|Kousaku Anakubo}}. The story follows the adventures of [[Isamu Akai]] and his Pokémon ([[Isamu Akai's Clefairy|Clefairy]], [[Isamu Akai's Pikachu|Pikachu]] and [[Isamu Akai's Tyrogue|Tyrogue]]) in [[Hoenn]]. It is chiefly a gag manga using crude humor and slapstick.
