Leave Professor Elm's house (After receiving a [[potion]] from his assistant) and go left to [[Route 29]]. I suggest you [[battle]] wild Pokémon along the way to build up experience for your first gym battle, which will be soon after your go to Mr. Pokémon's House for Professor Elm. Once you get to [[Cherrygrove City]] heal your Pokémon. The old man at the entrance to the city will show you around the town and give you a [[map]] for your PokéGear. After leaving Cherrygrove go north all the way up to Mr. Pokémon's. He gives you a [[Mystery Egg]] when you get there! [[Professor Oak]] is also there and gives you a [[Pokédex]] to use on your journey. When you leave Mr. Pokémon's house Professor Elm calls you and is apparently in danger.
