Talk:M01: Difference between revisions

I know that there are conventions that determine where the movies take place in the Pokemon storyline, and that said conventions place this movie between The Pi-Kahuna and Make Room For Gloom, but I believe it takes place much later: Specifically, between Pallet Party Panic and A Scare in the Air.  My material evidence is that when the brainwashed Nurse Joy in the movie requests that Ash and company release all their pokemon, there is no sign of Pidgeotto.  Less concrete is my feeling that, up to the point of The Pi-Kahuna, Ash had not accomplished anything that would have gained him sufficient notoriety to cause trainers from as far away as Johto (as indicated by the presence of a Donphan in the party of the trainer that challenges Ash in the movie's opening) to specifically seek Ash out.  It would require a feat as significant as placing in the top 16 of his first Pokemon League Competition.  I would like others to weigh in on this issue.
