Yes, Ash pulls out a ball to recall Pikachu a few times once when his mom raises a question about pikachu being out of its ball, and again when it battles onyx. | |||
The Trainers use one of the balls Oak gives them, but the ball the Pokemon was in when they chose it is not taken. | |||
