:::Before you joined, there were serious problems with editing the userspace. People were litarally doing more work on their userpages than they were on the main articles, and slowing the server to a crawl with all their edits. So the admins enacted a several-month block on all userspace edits, which was only recently lifted. In order to prevent the crisis from happening again, we're trying to keep people from editing their userpages more than three times a day.
