Since Team Rocket of Generation I, poison-type pokemon are used as often as the dark-type to represent evil, and psychic attacks are super-effective against such pokemon. This associates the psychic type with light, as does its (less advantageous) opposition to the Dark type and Ghost type. :The psychic-type isn't super-effective against dark, it's absolutely ineffective. Meanwhile, dark is super-effective against psychic. It was introduced in gen II largely to balance out the psychic type. --<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>((<font color="#00FF00">Argh</font>|<font color="#50C878">Blargh</font>)) 08:58, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
