Their cover-up story of other bad guys attempting to disturb the festival turns out to be accidentally accurate when the {{player}} spots a group of [[Team Break]] members, who are quickly detained. While the player is busy watching the fireworks, {{mas|James}} snatches a bunch of partner Pokémon from distracted {{pkmn|Trainer}}s, including the player's {{p|Pikachu}}. When the player notices Pikachu's absence, {{Shiny}} {{p|Celebi}} appears and leads them to Team Rocket. The player's Pikachu returns to its Trainer and challenges the trio to a battle, which they confidently accept after reciting their {{motto}}. Team Rocket ends up being defeated and gets blasted off, allowing the player to return the stolen Pokémon to their Trainers.
