Kenzo was the {{wp|shihan}} of his own {{wp|dojo}}. However the years were catching up to him and he needed to pass on the duty to someone else. A likely canidate would be his granddauther [[Chigusa]].  But he didn't want her to be shihan because she was more concerned with her Pokémon's moves "looking pretty" rather than consintrating on battling. Later on Chigusa proved herself worthy and she became shihan of the dojo.
