People don't just join to edit their userpages, but you shouldn't get rid of it entirly just to motivate them to edit the mainspace. And why exactly won't it be over soon? What can be gained by keeping it off even longer? [[User:Noname|Noname]] It's not like userpaes are the lifeblood of people here, but it is certainly a nice feature.
