Hi, in response to your question about the Great Marsh, the NPC was from BDSP (sorry I should have specified). He is located on the far left side of the middle area I believe. I saw in the trivia that it had been corrected in Platinum and I assumed this was maintained for the remakes since I tested it myself. I managed to catch Carnivine throwing only mud for several turns and then burning through several Safari Balls. I don't imagine this would have happened throwing only bait. I know this doesn't completely prove anything but I felt like the info was safe enough to pass off until a data miner could confirm. :First of all, don't go to other talk pages to reply to the initial message left on yours - reply to it on your talk page, this way the whole conversation can be seen in one place. Don't try to move it over to your talk now though, that'd be even more confusing, just remember that in the future.
:As for the gameplay mechanic - are you sure that NPC said "Bait makes it easier to catch, less likely to stay; Mud makes it harder to catch, more likely to stay"? I am fairly sure that Platinum Trivia section is also incorrect (well, Trivia is correct, NPC's information isn't), otherwise, it wouldn't state the exact opposite of what the article stated. Even if BDSP's NPC said exactly that, it could be a leftover text from Platinum.
:I just don't believe they'd change the mechanics so quickly without any reasoning. It was always "Bait makes pokemon more likely to stay (logical explanation - they are eating) but less likely to be caught (balancing reasons, pseudo-health increase from the bait); while rocks make them more likely to flee (logical explanation - they don't like being hurt) but more likely to be caught (balancing reasons, pseudo-health decrease from being hit)". This is just me trying to explain why it'd be strange if it worked as you put it - and look at all other Safari zones, each and every one has mechanics similar to what was on the Great Marsh page prior to your edits. I feel like it's better to change it back until we are certain it was or was not changed. [[User:Itan|Itan]] ([[User talk:Itan|talk]]) 23:00, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
