I will say this for the people who have been argueing of Pikachu's gender. Pikachu, although never physically said, is in fact a male. Proof is shown of why Buneary likes him. Though some will say Buneary is a boy, proof of her being a girl is in episode #505 "Steamboat Willies!" Happiny, a (now revealed to be famale) Aipom, and Buneary get in dresses. When Dawn sees she says "You girls look so cute." directly to the Pokemon.
