Several Pokémon Rangers appeared in the anime, mainly in the Advanced Generation. Generally, they are tasked with keeping an eye on an area and looking after the wild Pokémon there. Some of these areas are restricted and have to be protected from poachers.

A pair of Rangers appeared in The Power of Us, where they encountered Risa, who was looking for an Eevee near a mountain that had been off-limits for decades. They warned her to leave the area because of Zeraora's curse.

A Ranger named Keira appeared in SS014. She gave Ash and Go advice on how to cross the hot sands of Desert Resort, and later joined them in a Raid Battle.
