The most commonly seen Team Rocket submarine is the {{p|Magikarp}} submarine. Powered by pedaling, it serves as underwater [[Transportation in the Pokémon world|transportation]], has arms that can be extended, and legs that can also be extended on land. Its weapons include nets and extendable fists. This is often used by Team Rocket as an alternative mode of transportation while they pursue Ash and Pikachu. It was first used in the [[Orange Archipelago]], making its debut in ''[[EP085|Fit to be Tide!]]''. After a long absence, it would reappearreappeared in ''[[XY022|Going for the Gold!]]'', where it was slightly redesigned, and again in ''[[SS008]]''.
 
Occasionally, during the [[Kanto]] arc, a {{p|Gyarados}}-based submarine was used. Much like the Magikarp submarine, it is powered by pedaling and is equipped with a net launcher, extendable arms, and wheels. Its first Japanese appearance was in ''[[EP018|Beauty and the Beach]]'', while the English debut came in ''[[EP030|Sparks Fly For Magnemite]]''.
 
In ''[[BW088|The Mystery of the Missing Cubchoo!]]'', they used a generic submarine that wasn't designed after a Pokémon.
