DP159: Difference between revisions

While everyone relaxes by a waterfall, {{Ash}} tries {{pkmn|training}} his {{AP|Gible}} in order to master {{m|Draco Meteor}}. After yet another failed attempt, the meteor again hits {{TP|Dawn|Piplup}}, knocking him out. Ash calls for another try, but Gible then starts chomping a rock and due to his habit, he falls into the water. So Ash calls {{AP|Buizel}} out to save him.

After the successful rescue, a stern-looking {{tc|Black Belt}} by the name of [[Clayton]] and his {{p|Mr. Mime}} leap through the waterfall. The group quickly realize Clayton has a habit of abbreviating words after he gives them special nicknames. Clayton congratulates Buizel on his heroic rescue and challenges him to a {{pkmn|battle}} against his Pokémon. Ash and Buizel naturally agree. Buizel starts with {{m|Aqua Jet}} but Mr. Mime counters with {{m|Psychic}} sending its opponent into a tree. Buizel then attempts a {{m|Sonic Boom}} but Mr. Mime evades the attack using {{m|Double Team}}. Once again, Buizel tries an Aqua Jet but his attack is countered by a {{m|Thunder Punch}}, knocking him out in the process.

Ash then asks to train with Clayton, and Clayton agrees. He takes Ash and Buizel over to the waterfall where he and Mr. Mime shows them what they can do, by punching the waterfall and turning it all into ice using an {{m|Ice Punch}}. Clayton then punches it and breaks the ice. Then he tells Ash and Buizel in order to master Ice Punch they need to practice by punching the waterfall. Clayton scolds Ash and Buizel for punching weak. Then he demonstrates again, punching the water without splashing and without his fist getting wet. After telling them they need to improve their concentration and speed, Clayton leaves Ash and Buizel to hone their skills. By evening, Buizel’s technique has dramatically improved, with Buizel finally succeeding creating some ice with a quick jab at the waterfall.

At dinner, Clayton and Mr. Mime are eating with a huge appetite, while Clayton compliments {{an|Brock}} on his incredible cooking. On the other hand, Ash is oddly not eating, and he soon leaves the table along with Buizel and {{AP|Pikachu}}. Ash takes a moment to gaze at the moon, and watch as the wind carries loose leaves. He suddenly becomes inspired and tells Buizel to concentrate on hitting the blowing leaves. After a few unsuccessful attempts his fist starts glowing for a short time. Still, he has to practice more in order to master Ice Punch.

The next day Ash is feeling confident and challenges Clayton to a [[rematch]]. Tired of waiting, {{TRT}} jump out of the bush proceeding to steal Mr. Mime as they recite their {{motto}}. But lightning strikes, sending the trio blasting off. The rematch takes place, and Buizel starts again with Aqua Jet. Like last time, Mr. Mime directs Buizel into a tree by the means of Psychic, but this time, Buizel manages to evade the collision by rebounding off the tree. Buizel then uses Sonic Boom but Mr. Mime evades it again using Double Team. Then Buizel uses Ice Punch while Mr. Mime uses Thunder Punch. Their fists collide and Mr. Mime's fist almost hits Buizel, though he manages to dodge at the last second. Clayton orders Mr. Mime to try another Thunder Punch. Ash orders Buizel to charge towards it, while his [[Ability]] {{a|Swift Swim}} is activated by a sudden downpour which increases his speed. He then evades the Thunder Punch while hitting his opponent with Ice Punch, knocking Mr. Mime out in the process. After the battle, Clayton congratulates them both on their victory. He wishes Ash all the best, before the group hit the road once again.
