There has to be more than a reference to Allister's mask resembling a Mario character. It is like saying Bonnie is a reference to Bonnie and Clyde as ForceFire said. It needs to validate more than a reference like what they use. (Good example: Trainers named West and Keaton using Bat Pokémon referencing to Batman.)
