:Everyone knows that official sources use "they" to refer to Blanche, even the article mentions that. But saying that Blanche is non-binary based only on this is jumping to conclusions. It would be fine enough if NintendoSoup was an official source, but as far as I know it is only a fansite interpreting official material. Furthermore, this conclusion is somewhat contradicted by the designer's statement that Blanche's gender is "''whatever impression or feeling you get from the design''", which clearly suggests that his intention was to leave Blanche's gender ambiguous, without forcing any gender identification (neither "male", "female" or "non-binary").
