While not mentioned by name, in ''[[SM002|The Guardian's Challenge]]'', it is revealed that {{an|Kiawe}} completed Olivia's grand trial and received a [[Z-Ring]] from her prior to the start of the {{series|Sun & Moon}}.
In [[SM140]], Olivia and the other Island Kahunas joined forces to battle Guzzlord. The guardian deities later came to their assistance, using their powers to keep Guzzlord in place long enough for Olivia and the others to fire off their Z-Moves. The combined attacks launched Guzzlord back into the wormhole it came out of, successfully sending it back into Ultra Space.
 
Olivia reappeared inIn [[SM141]], Olivia watched the exhibition match between Ash and Professor Kukui.

When it returned to Olivia, it had already evolved into Lycanroc. Lycanroc first appeared in ''[[SM031|The Island Whisperer!]]'' to help {{an|Kiawe}}'s {{p|Charizard}} when it was struggling to deal with an out of control {{p|Tauros}}. It later helped freeing a {{p|Wailmer}} that had been stuck between rocks.
 
In ''[[SM036|Trials and Determinations!]]'', Lycanroc was used during Olivia's [[Island challenge|grand trial]] battle against {{Ash}}, where it teamed up with {{p|Probopass}} to battle [[Ash's Rockruff]] and {{AP|Rowlet}}. Despite proving to be a formidable opponent with its strength and speed, Lycanroc was eventually defeated by Rockruff's {{m|Rock Throw}}.
 
In ''[[SM037|Risingthe fromnext the Ruins!episode]]'', after hearing about Rockruff's disappearance, Lycanroc left its Trainer to go and find Rockruff. It eventually met up with {{an|[[Gladion}}'s Lycanroc]] and took Rockruff to the [[Ruins of Life]], where they encountered {{DL|Guardian deities (anime)|Tapu Lele}}, who attacked them. Lycanroc later watched as Rockruff evolved into a {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Lycanroc|Dusk Form}} {{AP|Lycanroc}}. Afterwards, Lycanroc went backreturned to Olivia.
 
In ''[[SM055SM090|TheSecuring Professors' Newthe AdventureFuture!]]'', Lycanroc attendedjoined the weddingrest of [[ProfessorAlola Kukui]]in andshowering [[Professor{{DL|Light Burnet]]trio (anime)|Necrozma}} with Olivialight so it could return to its {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Necrozma|true form}}.
