|desc={{p|Golem}} was the Pokémon which Chopper chose to use during his battle against Ash. Ash first calls out {{p|Bulbasaur}} and has it use {{m|Vine Whip}}, but that proves to be useless against Golem's shell. Golem then defeats Bulbasaur with a single Tackle. Ash recalls Bulbasaur and sends out {{p|Charmander}}. It uses {{m|Ember}}, but Golem is unaffected. The Megaton Pokémon then attacks with Rock Throw, but Charmander dodges and attacks with {{m|Flamethrower}} and {{m|Fire Spin}} in succession, covering Golem's body with flames. Golem attempts to Tackle Charmander, but just ends up rolling amongst the bike gang as a red-hot ball of fire, forcing Chopper to recall it. Even after the battle, Golem's {{i|Poké Ball}} was so hot that Chopper almost burned his fingers while holding it.
