Wimp Out (Ability)

In battle
When a Pokémon with Wimp Out drops below half of its full {{stat|HP}} in battle, it will [[escape|flee]] in {{pkmn2|wild}} battles, or [[recall|switch out]] in {{pkmn|Trainer}} battles. It can only activate when a Pokémon's HP falls from above half to below half; if it does not activate at that time, it will not activate at all (unless the Pokémon with this Ability restores HP).
 
Wimp Out will not activate if the Pokémon's HP falls below half due to hurting itself in {{status|confusion}}, {{weather|hail}}, {{weather|sandstorm}}, or using {{m|Substitute}} or {{m|Belly Drum}}, but it will activate if the HP falls below half from {{m|Spikes}} or {{m|Stealth Rock}} damage. This Ability willdoes not activate ifuntil theafter HP[[Shell ofBell]] and Berries such as the Pokémon[[Sitrus withBerry]] thishave Abilityhad isa restoredchance to abovecause halfrecovery, immediatelybut aftereven itif dropsa Pokémon fell below half (suchHP asand immediately rose back above half due to aone heldof [[Sitrusthose Berry]])effects, Wimp Out will still activate in its due turn, and cause the Pokémon to retreat.
 
Wimp Out will not activate if the Pokémon's HP falls below half by a move affected by {{a|Sheer Force}}.
