 Horacio entered the [[Charjabug race]] as the leader of the Red Comet team with his {{Shiny}} {{p|Charjabug}} and his brothers {{OBP|Dana|SM041}} and [[Yansu]]. He was certain that his Charjabug's top-class equipment and {{stat|Speed}}-increasing [[nature]] would allow him to win the race with ease. During the race, he constantly mocked {{an|Sophocles}} and his own {{TP|Sophocles|Charjabug}}. He also kept yelling at his brothers and insisted they keep pushing on, despite the fact that his Charjabug was getting exhausted from all the obstacles it had to face during the race. Eventually, Horacio's Charjabug got stuck when it was unable to climb an ice-covered slope. Sophocles's team eventually won the race, much to Horacio and his brothers' dismay.
-Horacio reappeared in [[SM106]] alongside his brothers at [[Vast Poni Canyon]] where he was planning to evolve his Charjabug into {{p|Vikavolt}}. This led them to meet up with Ash, Kiawe and Sophocles once more who was planning to evolve his own Charjabug. Horacio believed that there was a legendary Bug Stone that would evolve any {{type|Bug}}. Sophocles challenged Horacio which he accepted with the winner being the first person to evolve their Charjabug. A rule Horacio set involved getting no help from anyone else, which Sophocles accepted, putting him at an disadvantage because of his fear of the dark. Having no fear, Horacio went on ahead and when Sophocles emerged from the cave, Horacio was ahead crossing a rope bridge. The bridge collapsed, leaving Horacio and Charjabug clinging on for safety but were saved when Sophocles's Charjabug evolved into Vikavolt.

Due to Sophocles's fear of the dark, he struggled to get through a cave, allowing Horacio to easily get ahead and make his way to a rope bridge that led to the Bug Stone. Horacio tried crossing the bridge, only for it to collapse under his feet, leaving him and Charjabug to hold onto it for safety. Sophocles's Charjabug evolved into a {{p|Vikavolt}} and carried Horacio and his Charjabug to safe land. Afterward, Sophocles gave the Bug Stone to Horacio, only for it to not work when he tried it on his Charjabug.
