Lilycove City
Route 123 (optional)
The hideout belonging to Team Aqua can be found in a cave to the northeast of Lilycove's beach. You'll need to storm their hideout in order to retrieve Captain Stern's submarine, so bring a party that can handle plenty of battles against them. When choosing your team, remember that Team Aqua often uses Water- and Dark-type Pokémon.

Aqua Hideout
123 slopes downhill as it runs westward, from 122 back to 118. The Berry Master's house, and his extensive backyard garden, can be found on the route's west side.

Team Aqua has been working hard to build an impressive hideout in this spacious cave near Lilycove City. Storming this heavily-guarded base won't be easy, but you must risk it all to prevent Archie's misguided vision from becoming reality!

Berry Master's House
The Berry Master's house, and Hoenn Route 123, are located near the route's west end. Talk to him to receive two Berries of the same name every day, chosen randomly: Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, Tamato, Cornn, Magost, Rabuta, or Nomel.

The Hoenn Route 123 will give out a Berry each day as well, but the type depends on whether or not you tell her a special phrase. Most answers will result in a common type of Berry—Cheri, Chesto, Pecha, Rawst, Aspear, Leppa, Oran, Persim, Lum, or Sitrus—while certain answers will earn a rarer variety. After hearing all five phrases, she will hand out one common Berry every day.

Jagged Pass (second visit)
Having received the Magma Emblem from the caretakers atop Mt. Pyre, the next step is to use it. Fly back to Lavaridge Town and 112, then either enter Jagged Pass from the south and use the Acro Bike to scale the cliffs, or ride the cable car to the summit and descend. Hike through the area until you reach the halfway point, where you passed that Magma Grunt on your first visit. Just then, a suspicious-looking part of the cliffside begins shaking in response to the Magma Emblem. By the time the tremor subsides, a gaping hole has appeared in the rock!

Located deep in the side of Mt. Chimney, the Team Magma Hideout serves as the terrestrial team's base of operations. Many strange machines can be found inside, and one chamber even holds excavation equipment for further expansion.

1F
Enter the base, turn the corner, and use Strength to move past the group of boulders. Continue on to battle the Grunt on the east side of the chamber, then take the southeast doorway.

1F
2F
Climb out of the water and up the stairway. At the top, a single Aqua Grunt patrols around the pool of water. Battle him and head down the stairs to the northeast.
Make your way down the cliffside, battling four more Grunts along the way. After that, head through the mid-level doorway to detour for a handful of items.

2F (Room 2)
Go north to fight a couple of Grunts in a Double Battle, then collect the Full Restore just beyond them. Head back south, then turn east to battle another two Grunts and grab the Max Elixir to the northwest. Continue eastward and head through the northeast doorway.

B1F (west)
Back on 1F, follow the elevated path to the southwest, battling a single Grunt along the way to the path's end, where you find a Rare Candy. Backtrack through 2F (Room 2) to the southwest doorway to return to 2F.
There are two warp panels in the northeast room; take the eastern panel first to reach the east-central room and a Max Elixir. Warp back and take the other to reach the northwest panel in the southern room. Ignore the three Aqua Grunts and take the warp panel in the southwest.

B1F (east)
2F
The previous warp panel leads to a small room with several more. Follow them in the correct order—left, center, left, left—to reach the interior room on B1F.
Continue down the cliffside and go through the doorway at the bottom.

B1F (west)
3F
In Archie's office, you'll find four items near the far wall. Two of them are actually Electrode in disguise, while the bottom-left item is a Nugget and the top-left item is a Master Ball! This type of Poké Ball will catch any wild Pokémon without fail, and is best used on hard-to-catch legendary Pokémon. Backtrack through the warp-filled hallway to B1F's southern room, battle the three Grunts, and step on the southeast warp panel. This transports you to the north-central room; head down the stairs to B2F.
Head west around the lava pool to battle the first Grunt. Walk down the stairway and go through the doorway to the east.

B2F
3F (Room 2)
Go south and step on the warp panel there to be transported a short distance to the west; collect the Nest from this enclosed area before warping back. Head northeast past another patrolling Aqua Grunt and take the warp panel there to the northwest room. Climb the stairs back to B1F.
Pick up a PP Max to the northwest and battle the Grunt to the northeast, then return to the previous chamber.

B1F (west)
3F
Battle past the single Aqua Grunt here and head down the stairs to the northeast.
Walk down the stairway and fight the second Grunt. Go west and collect the Nugget before heading south through the doorway.

B2F
4F
Battle the two Aqua Grunts and step on the warp panel to the southwest; this leads to the southeast corner of B2F. Go west to find one of the Aqua Admins, Matt, standing at the water's edge. He's the only thing standing between you and stopping Archie's getaway!
Head down the stairway and go west, battling three more Grunts along the way. Continue westward and you are stopped by Magma Admin Tabitha. He tells you that Maxie is up ahead, and draws you into battle to buy some time for his boss.

Collect a Max Revive from the northwest corner, then turn south. Up ahead, you find Maxie standing on the edge of a lava pool, talking to the sleeping form of the super-ancient Pokémon, Groudon. He holds the Blue Orb high, and its light awakens the ancient beast, which immediately escapes. Maxie blames you, accusing you of some "cheap stunt", and prepares for battle!

The battle lasted just long enough for Archie to escape in his souped-up submarine. You've got to chase after him to the Seafloor Cavern, but you have no means of diving underwater like he can in his sub. For now, you'll have to keep to the surface. Head south then east and take the warp panel there back to the cave entrance and Lilycove City. The Grunt and his Wailmer blockade have disappeared from the beach, leaving you free to venture out into the eastern ocean.

124 holds all sorts of treasure, but most lie on the ocean floor far below. It's not possible to fully explore the area without Dive, so for now the route simply serves as a connector between Lilycove to the west, 126 to the south, and Mossdeep City to the east.

Defeated, Maxie flees to search for Groudon. Take the south doorway for a shortcut back to the entrance, and collect the Escape Rope along the way through 3F (Room 3) and 2F (Room 3).
Treasure Hunter's House
The Treasure Hunter's house stands on a small island to the southeast. He loves to collect Shards, and is happy to trade for them with certain evolutionary stones. The kind of Shard you trade him determines the kind of stone you get in return.
