Parasect debuts in ''[[PS021|Long Live the Nidoking!]]'', where it is seen as one of the Pokémon at [[Fuchsia City]]'s {{safari|Kanto}} and in the next round ''[[PS022|A Hollow Victreebel]]'' where multiple Parasect were captured by red off-screen.
 
In the {{chap|Gold, Silver & Crystal}} of [[Pokémon Adventures]], {{adv|Crystal}} useshas a Parasect nicknamed[[nickname]]d Parasee, which it first appeared in ''[[PS117|Slugging It Out With Slugma]]'',. She uses it extensively in her Pokémon capturingcatching, using its {{m|Spore}} attack to put targets to sleep. Her Parasect is seen to be capable of increasing the radius of its Spore attack to at least {{tt|3 kilometers|about 1.6 miles}}. In ''[[PS135|Lively Larvitar]]'', the origin of Crystal's Parasect is revealed: it, along with Crystal's {{p|Natu}}, {{p|Hitmonchan}}, and {{p|Cubone}}, were wild Pokémon living in [[Mt. Mortar]] and had fought with a local {{p|Arcanine}} that had gone berserk from a severe eye injury. Parasect was able to create medicinal spores to help Arcanine heal and Crystal recover from her fractured arms. In ''[[PS165|Lugia and Ho-Oh on the Loose (Part 1)]]'', Crystal reveals yet another ability of Parasect: it is able to use the powder attacks it possesses to combine into a wider range of spores, including one for corroding metals.
 
AnotherA Parasect appeared in ''[[PS179|The Last Battle XIII]]'' as one of the Pokémon sent to helpparticipate in the fight in [[Ilex Forest]].
 
A Parasect belonging to an {{tc|Aether Foundation Employee}} first appeared in the {{chap|Sun & Moon}}.
