They want to stop and find somewhere to eat, and Tracey says that they are getting close to [[Mikan Island]], where one of the four [[Gym Leader]]s in the Orange Crew is. The coconut was a trap set by a boy named {{OBP|Senta|EP085}}, but he is told off by [[Cissy]], his older sister and the Mikan Gym Leader.

Both are evenly matched and manage to hit the final target at the same time. Cissy declares the first challenge a draw, and Ash congratulates his Squirtle's efforts while Seadra turns away in disgust.
-To break the tie is a Pokémon Wave Ride, where Ash's Lapras and Cissy's {{p|Blastoise}} will race to a flag, go around it, and race back to shore. Before the race can begin, however, Team Rocket attacks. James had to go out and untangle their submarine, and nearly drowned trying to get back to the surface. He says it was similar to a poorly made for TV movie, and Meowth hits him with a hammer and tells him to stop being so dramatic. They capture Blastoise in a net, and head back underwater, but their submarine stalls and their pedals break. Blastoise is too strong for them and gets back to the surface. Pikachu dips his tail in the water and uses a Thunderbolt to shock them, and Blastoise sends them blasting off with Hydro Pump.

Amongst Weezing's {{m|Smog}}, Team Rocket net Cissy's Blastoise and begin to dive back underwater. Unfortunately for them, their submarine's propellers are still entangled in seaweed. In a bid to push through, Team Rocket snap their pedals and their submarine sinks to the seafloor. Just as Cissy had predicted, her Blastoise proves to powerful for Team Rocket's net and as it makes a return to the beach. Pikachu dips his tail in the water and uses a {{m|Thunderbolt}} to shock them, and Blastoise sends them blasting off with its {{m|Hydro Pump}}.

However, the wave still crashes into Cissy and sends her flying, but Blastoise catches her in time. Cissy once again gets ahead of her challenger. Ash comes up with an idea and has Lapras use an Ice Beam to make an ice track. Lapras proves faster on the ice than in the water. Ash just wins the race as Lapras's head passed the finish line first.
-Cissy gives Ash a {{badge|Coral-Eye}}, and he and his friends ride Lapras off the island, continuing their Pokémon journey.
