Greenfield's sweeping green valleys filled with fields of flowers and windmills make it an incredibly scenic location. According to {{an|Misty}}, Greenfield is one of the most beautiful locations in [[Johto]]. It contains a [[Pokémon Center]] as well as a play park, where {{OBP|Lisa|M03}} and {{Ash}} battle in the third movie. The Hale mansion is a significant landmark, home to [[Spencer Hale]], [[Molly Hale]] and Mrs Hale; Molly's mother and Spencer's wife. According to the anime maps, it is located just southeast of [[Goldenrod City]].

In Greenfield, Molly Hale discovers some tiles that [[Spencer Hale|her father]] left behind when he was kidnapped by the Unown and sent into the [[Unown Dimension]]. The tiles contain the {{OBP|Unown|M03}}, and over the course of the movie, the pristine environment was almost completely crystallized thanks to the Unown's efforts to fulfil Molly's fantasies. [[Ash]] and his friends intervene, they manage to get Molly to abandon her fantasy world in order to restore the real one. With her newfound belief, [[Entei (M03)|Entei, an illusion created by the Unown]] breaks through the swarming Unown's barrier which then restores Greenfield to its former beauty.
