Rishin Town appears to be a large city with tall buildings and shopping strips, which [[Max]] remarks is polluted. [[Ash]] adds that the town has a [[Pokémon Center]]. {{an|Brock}} stocks up on medicinal supplies while {{an|May}} accompanies him and does some window shopping. Ash and Max fill up at a local burger place and stumble upon a {{p|Shroomish}} in a nearby alleyway.

[[Alex]] details that he used to play with Shroomish as a child alongside [[Alex's grandfather|his grandfather]], also the Green Lodge's owner. After his grandfather passed away, the once forested area with a few homes developed into its urban mecha. The new development displaced the forest Pokémon.  With its courtyard overgrown, Alex is in the midst of clearing the mansion's site for more development. Alex decides that the mansion will have to be demolished, though in its place he will restore the area to forest to house the Shroomish.
