-A picture of an Ash-Greninja made a brief appearance in ''[[XY099|The Legend of the Ninja Hero!]]'' inside the [[Ninja Village]] monument. This Greninja, who had fought alongside a [[Staraptor]] and a [[Heatmor]], was supposedly the "village hero" and the leader of the Pokémon who defended Ninja Village in ancient times when a battle broke out between all the ninja in the village. [[Ippei]] and [[Sanpei]] each chose [[Froakie]] as their [[starter Pokémon]] because they both admired this Greninja.
 A Greninja appeared in the opening sequence of ''[[M19|Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel]]'', when it evolved from {{p|Froakie}} and {{p|Frogadier}}.
