Brock reads his guidebook announcing there is an town up ahead, this invigorates Ash and he starts running ahead. They reach the town, but {{TP|Misty|Togepi}} runs off and meets a young girl named {{OBP|Brittany|EP243}} practicing with her twin {{p|Igglybuff}}. Upon meeting Brittany Brock declares his love for her, in response Misty drags Brock away by the ear. Brittany introduces her two Igglybuff, nicknamed Gigglybiff and Gigglybuff. She stars in her own musical variety television program called 'Brittany' along with her two Igglybuff. Brittany explains she is in town for her first concert which will be recorded live for her show. She then presses play on her CD player to begin a practice performance with Ash and crew watching on. The two Igglybuff are wearing matching headbands with white feathers attached. The song and dance performance begins. {{TRT}} spies on them like usual and [[Jessie]] daydreams of having her own show with the Igglybuff.{{an|Jigglypuff}} shows up and begins to sing, but Ash snatches her microphone and stashes it in his [[bag|backpack]]. Brock offers Jigglypuff some Pokémon food, which it gratefully enjoyed. Brittany invites Misty, Ash and Brock to lunch. Upon hearing the compliments the two Igglybuff received Jigglypuff gets jealous of Brittany's Igglybuff, so she bullies them when Ash and {{ashfr}} aren't looking, kicking them and taking their headbands off. Misty returns to find the Igglybuff crying, and notices the headbands on the ground. She asks Jigglypuff to bring the two headbands over, Jigglypuff follows orders though gives a false story of the wind blowing them away to conceal its jealousy. After placing the headbands back on the two Igglybuff, Jigglypuff nudges Misty's leg and is also invited to Brittany's concert. Misty carries both Jigglypuff and Togepi in her arms.

The group are now backstage with Brittany and her two Igglybuff, The pair are now wearing headbands with a heart in the middle and two pink wings either side. Brittany has also changed into a pink dress, white gloves and her hair is done up slightly differently. Ash, Brock, Misty and Jigglypuff have made it to their seats and watch Brittany's live performance. A red curtain rises to a brightly lit stage, the Igglybuff are in the front on heightened platforms and Brittany is at the back singing. Meanwhile the singing causes Jigglypuff to remember its microphone is stashed in Ash's bag backstage, it retrieves its prized possession. Just as Jigglypuff begins singing she is disturbed by Team Rocket's arrival which causes the stadium to shake. The trio of villains appear in costumes and begin to perform a sing and dance routine. This is met with boos form the audience, suddenly Ash and crew make their way on to stage to confront the trio. This leads Jessie, James and Meowth into their usual {{motto}} routine.
