TapuGuardian Kokodeities
The Guardian deities make several appearance in the anime, the most prominent being Tapu Koko. They play an important part in the story line, especially in the case of the Cosmic duo and their pre-evolutions, as well as the Ultra Beasts

Tapu Koko
{{AnimePokémonInfobox|
type1=Electric|
It next appeared in the Poké Problem segment of SM050, where it sensed Nebby's evolution from Cosmog into Cosmoem. In the following episode, it appeared at Poni Island together with the other guardian deities.

Personality and characteristics
Tapu Koko seems to be a playful Pokémon, due to the fact that it stole the Fightinium Z that Hala was going to give to Ash. Its desire to challenge Ash is so strong, it stole Ash's hat in order for Ash to follow and battle it.

Tapu Lele made its anime debut in Partner Promises!, where Ash and Pikachu on Treasure Island. It was seen floating over the ocean, and scattered its glowing scales on Ash to heal the wounds he got while rescuing a trapped Wimpod, after which it took off into the sky. After Ash returned to Professor Kukui's house, Rotom Pokédex identified it as a Tapu Lele.

Tapu Lele reappeared in The Island Whisperer!, during a flashback and a fantasy. It appeared again in Trials and Determinations!, flying over Ash, ashcl, Olivia, and Professor Kukui, after Ash's grand trial against Olivia.

Tapu Lele reappeared in Rising from the Ruins!, where it battled Ash's Rockruff and won easily. When Olivia and Gladion's Lycanroc brought it to be healed by the guardian deity. When Tapu Lele seemed to be incapable of completely healing Rockruff, it attacked the two Lycanroc until Ash arrived and stepped in to protect them. It then used Draining Kiss to drain energy from Ash and the two Lycanroc, allowing it to heal Rockruff. Tapu Lele also stayed to watch as Rockruff subsequently evolved into a List of Pokémon with form differences Lycanroc in the light of the setting sun, smiling happily as it the floated away afterwards.

Tapu Lele was seen briefly in SM044, where it and the other Guardian deities had sensed the birth of a Cosmog nicknamed Nebby. In SM051, it appeared at Poni Island together with the other guardian deities.

Personality and characteristics
Tapu Lele seems to be a kind and caring Pokémon, as it healed Ash's wounds despite not knowing him. However, it also doesn't seem to mind battling much weaker opponents and hurting them in the process, as shown when it challenged and easily defeated Ash's Rockruff, acting gleefully happy the whole time.

Tapu Fini and Tapu Bulu
Tapu Fini and Tapu Bulu first appeared in SM044, when they reacted to Nebby's appearance. It is later revealed that they took the Cosmog to Melemele Island and allowed Ash to find it. They make their next appearance alongside their fellow Guardians in SM051, where they were waiting for Ash and his friends at the Altar of the Sunne. In the following episode, the four showed the children and Professor Kukui Cosmog's origin, before performing a ritual on Cosmoem to allow it to evolve into Solgaleo. They then gave Ash a Solganium Z, but after he failed to insert into his Z-Ring, they took it and turned it into a Z-Power Ring before giving it back. The four then dispersed after seeing Solgaleo carry Ash and friends through the Ultra Wormhole.

A Cosmog made its debut in SM044, in which it was found and taken by Ash. It was later nicknamed Nebby by Lillie. In SM050 it evolved into Cosmoem and in SM052 it fully evolved into Solgaleo.

Nihilego
Nihilego first appeared in SM050, when Faba created an Ultra Wormhole using Nebby's power. After appearing in the Aether Foundation basement laboratories, it promptly knocked out Faba before reaching out for Lillie. However, she was protected by Lusamine, who was then abducted and taken through the Wormhole. After attaching itself to Lusamine, it started playing on her desires and reduced her mentality to a child's. As such, when Gladion, Ash and his friends came to save her in SM055, she instead ran away, releasing her Pokémon enhanced by Nihilego's power as a deterrent. Nihilego used various other means to deter the children, but in the end was cornered by Ash, Lillie and Gladion. When Lillie managed to get through to Lusamine, Nihilego interfered, trying to keep Lusamine to itself. In the end, Ash managed to defeat it using 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, allowing Lusamine to separate from it.

A Nihilego made an appearance in the past, where it attacked Lillie, and was then in turn attacked by Silvally. However, it is uncertain if it is the same one.
