== Qualification for release? ==
Since the last comment on this was almost a year old, I thought I would ask in a different way. What exactly qualifies as a release by Bulbapedia's guidelines, because it sure as hell isn't based on the anime. We've seen Paul and Jessie release Pokemon, to be released from their Poke ball. But that clearly doesn't qualify for Goodra, as Ash used Goodra in the Kalos league where it still had its Poke ball. Unless you want to speculate and say that Ash re-caught Goodra for the sake of league, does saying Goodra being released make any sense at all given that we actual have anime examples of Pokemon truly being released with Paul and Jessie? I don't think a Pokemon that is registered in a Poke ball can be considered released, I know that makes Butterfree and Pidgeot questionable and even Greninja, but I can currently ignore them since we haven't seen them in a Poke ball. But Goodra was last seen in a Poke ball, I doubt it makes sense that after the Kalos league that Ash actually released Goodra, as that would be pure speculation, and we have to go based on what we have which is Goodra was seen in a Poke ball since it was left at the Swamp, in the Kalos League and the Team Flare climax, and then it was returned back to the swamp. I get that it doesn't qualify as "training" but I do think it could qualify for a new category of "Other" as in Ash didn't release Goodra the same way as Paul or Jessie with their Pokemon, and still is registered with its Poke ball. Calling it "released" seems contradictory to what the anime has shown in the past unless there's some qualifier of being "released" which doesn't directly mean what the anime has shown, is there? --[[User:Dman dustin|Dman dustin]] ([[User talk:Dman dustin|talk]]) 18:09, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
