Historical origin
==Historical origin==
Nobunaga is based on the real-life {{wp|Oda Nobunaga}} of Japanese history, one of the Three Unifiers who brought an end to the Warring States Period of which there had been over a century of civil war. A hotly debated figure to the present day, he was infamously bold and eccentric, bucking trend and enlisting men based on ability as opposed to station or familial ties. He died at Honnōji Temple, betrayed by one of his most trusted generals Akechi Mitsuhide, whose motivations are still debated.
[[Nō]] was his wife, {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Kitsuno}} was his concubine, [[Oichi]] was his sister, and {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Urakusai}} was his brother. {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Gotoku}} and {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Tsuru}} were his daughters, as possibly was {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Toku}}. {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Ujisato}} was his son-in-law through his daughter, {{jwp|冬姫|Fuyuhime}} (who is not in the game), and {{DL|List of Pokémon Conquest characters|Tomonori}} was related by marriage through Nobunaga's son ({{wp|Oda Nobukatsu}}) and Tomonori's daughter<!-- ([雪姫])--> (neither of whom are in the game).
