The game begins with the player and mother having moved over to LittleRoot Town. The player's mother suggests being introduced to Proffessor Birch. The pkayer meets Birch's wife and child (who is the player character not chosen). The player rescues Birch from a wild Zigzagoon, receiving a Treeko, Mudkip, or Torchic as a gift. The player then has a battle with Birch's child. The player then heads to Petalburg, meeting their dad and helping Wally catch a Ralts. The player saves a man from an Aqua Grunt in Petalburg who is after something in Rustboro. The player saves a Wingull belonging to Mr Briney who then takes him to Dewford where they deliver a letter to Steven Stone. The player meets Archie the bosd of Team Aqua at SlatePort. The player has their second/third battle with Birch's child. At Mauville, the player defeats Wally and after getting Rock Smash and beating the Mauville gym, the player heads to Fallarbor and then to Meteor Falls where Team Magma has stolen a meteorite from Proffessor Cozmo. Team Aqua appears and takes sides with the player against Team Magma. After beating Magma Boss Maxie and recovering the stolen Meteorite, the player beats Flannery, receives the go-goggles from Birch's child, and then returns to Petalburg to challange Norman. After saving the Weather institute and defeating Birch's child for the third/fourth time, the player beats Winnona and heads to Lilycove beating Birch's child for the final time. Team Aqua and Magma steal the orbs from Mt Pyre. After clearing the Magma Hideout and defeating Maxie, the player is unable to stop Team Aqua. After defeating Tate and Liza, the player helps Steven defeat Maxie and Tabitha. The player goes to Seafloor cave, being challamged for the final time by Archie who cannot control Kyogre. Maxie then artives and the two team up to stop Groudon and Kyogre. The player summons Rayquaza from Sky Pillar to calm the two and Archie and Maxie return the orbs. After beating Juan, the player heads to Victory Road beating Wally then challenges the Pokemon League Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake. The player beats champion Wallace and is congratuallated by Birch and his child. After the credits, the player can go to Battle Resort and can challange Steven at Meteor Falls. | |||
