Old reverted changes in Crystal & Silver and Gold articles
Hello,
I never came back to check if my contributions stuck. I noticed that you had reverted the battery life / battery replacement passages on Pokémon Crystal Version () and Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions (). I understand that the wiki isn't a how-to guide to electronics but in their current state the articles are misleading and to be honest untruthful. They say that it is a necessity for the saves to be deleted while this is not the case. I've renewed a few cartridges without losing the save via the methods described. I would also like to point out that since it's all really low voltage live soldering isn't dangerous. Yeah, dropping a solder ball on the circuitry will short it and you have no chance to fix that but it isn't dangerous per se (unless you referred 'dangerous' as in can damage the equipment). Nothing can catch fire. I would really like to edit the articles in a way that they suggest there exist methods for replacing the battery without losing the save file. While describing the method isn't in the scope of this wiki it would still be important that any reader seeking information about the battery problem wouldn't be dismayed by the condemning "replacing the battery will destroy the save file". --Black Eagle (talk) 09:44, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
