Just because he's a martial artist, doesn't mean he's a blackbelt. Unless he's specifically called a black belt. IT's like looking at a guy with glasses and calling him a nerd.

==History==
Clayton and his {{p|Mr. Mime}}, after traveling through many regions to perfect their fist techniques, now lives in an isolated area seeing as the area is suitable for their training. After seeing {{Ash}}'s {{AP|Buizel}}'s bravery, he asks it to a battle which his Mr. Mime easily wins. Afterward, he teaches Ash and Buizel on how to increase the speed and power of their punches which in Buizel's case would lead to learning {{m|Ice Punch}}. After Ash and Buizel trains, Clayton is asked to another battle. This time, Buizel was able to defeat his Mr. Mime with the help of the activation of {{a|Swift Swim}} and its newly learned move.

Clayton has a strange quirk in which he runs his words together, such as "Pokéner" ('''Poké'''mon Trai'''ner'''), "battover" ('''batt'''le is '''over'''), "unbegood" ('''unbe'''lievably '''good'''), "nowo" ('''no wo'''rries) and "secplea" ('''sec'''onds, '''plea'''se). He even dubbed Ash and {{ashfr}} with abbreviated nicknames: Ash and his Pokémon as AshPika ('''Ash''' and '''Pika'''chu; Japanese: ''SatoPika'') and AshBui ('''Ash''' and '''Bui'''zel; Japanese: ''SatoBuoy''), Dawn and her Piplup as "DawnPip" ('''Dawn''' and '''Pip'''lup; Japanese: ''HikaPoca''), and Brock as "BroBree" ('''Bro'''ck the '''Bree'''der; Japanese: ''TakeBree'').
