:::: Or maybe it's the other way around? What if the (localized?) understanding of Farfetch'd's leek onion being a stick resulted in the item being called Stick? What if the fact that it looks like a stick, combined with the fact that Farfetch'd always always carries it (perhaps like how a dog keeps fetching a stick no matter where it goes) does provide a resemblance. Maybe it's far fetched (pun intended), but maybe not. What if the name origin said, "The name may also be a reference to {{wp|Fetch}}, due to the onion leek held by Farfetch'd commonly being mistaken for a stick." {{unsigned|The Sackinator}}

:::::... I don't see how that's any different from what I just said was logically invalid. The localizers would've decided on Farfetch'd's name long before deciding on the Stick's name, so you could theoretically use the "fetch" idea (if it's valid, which I don't believe it is) as evidence for the name origin of the Stick, but not vice versa. :::::: Yes, obviously the item can't be the source of Farfetch'd name. What I meant was, what if the fact that Farfetch'd's onion looks like a stick could have independently resulted both in 1) the name of the item being Stick and 2) a potential ''Fetch'' pun in Farfetch'd's name. The Stick item obviously didn't influence the name, but what did influence the Stick's name (i.e., the onion's appearance being like a stick) could have also influenced Farfetch'd's name. —[[User:The Sackinator|The Sackinator]] ([[User talk:The Sackinator|talk]]) 02:37, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
