There's nothing in the last BW episode implying Charizard stayed at Oak's lab. All we know is that he was there for a picture. Charizard could've very easily returned to the Charicific Valley... it's kinda like with Gliscor after the Lily of the Valley Conference, until that episode confirmed his whereabouts.
