I agree with Ferret that they should have individual pages. Maybe have just a list of things, and then link them to the actual page about the item? And also it would be good to list them in alphabetical order. Jayh272416 09:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Is it really necessary to have all Secret Base/Room decorations in here? I say we branch those into their own article. It would reduce the list largely by number of items. If that's not enough, then there needs to be branching into common items between versions such as a Potion or Full Heal which appear in every single game so far. ==Definition==
Should we update our definition of item or should we stick to what we have right now? I'm having problems categorizing new objects from the Diamond and Pearl games. Should things like Spheres, Traps, Poffins, Goods (Underground), Treasures (Underground - can be placed in the bag but cannot cannot be picked up by players), Seals, and Accessories (contest) be considered as items even if those objects doesn't fit our current definition of an item? Please advise me since I have added Generation IV items in my list of work as part of my commitment to Bulbapedia's ItemDex Project. - Micael
Gen. IV
"an Itemfinder, a key item that has appeared in all the games so far."
Wrong. Either Gen IV does not have an Itemfinder, the Dowsing machine counts as an Itemfinder, or you get it after the Elite Four, but I can find all hidden items without it.
Please correct me, or change the page. I am unsure what to put, so can someone else make the change?

:The Dowsing Machine behaves like the item finder, just more like a radar-type. <span style="color:#FF8800">Gyw</span><span style="color:#FFAE00">all</span>(Talk) 16:25, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
But ti's still not an Itemfinder, so this should be fixed.  Schreiber 20:34, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
:In Japan, the Itemfinder has always been called the Dowsing Machine. But the itemfinder still technically didn't appear as an item in DPPt. --AndyPKMN 21:58, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Since no one has replied, and I'm wondering the same thing, can anyone confirm or deny the Moon Stones recurring in Generations II and IV in Mt. Moon Square on Monday nights?  Because if they don't, the Mt. Moon page needs to be fixed.  Schreiber 20:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Portable Pokemon Center item?
I seem to recall when I first started playing Pokemon Platinum that I talked to a vendor who was selling an item that was supposedly synonymous to a portable Pokemon center. I don't recall the name or much about it other than that it required a red orb of at least 90+ size. I'm having trouble finding that item not just here but anywhere. Does anyone else know more about this item? == Recurring Items ==
There are also four Star Pieces hidden in various spots inside Iron Island in Platinum, of which a few will regenerate daily (at midnight, it seems, according to the tests I've performed). Not all of these will necessarily regenerate, but apparently every one has a certain chance to do so. Should this be added to the article? Not sure where to write this, but I don't see any information about Dream World locations on the pages about the items themselves (like here and here. == Recurring gift items Section ==
I edited this section by adding all the appropriate links that I could find. That's my first edit so I hope I didn't messed up the page.--Sonic X (talk) 21:50, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
Items found after battle in Gen VI
In some caves in Gen VI you can find an item after a battle if you break a rock that appears in the background (I've done this using Surf, so I assume that it takes a multi-target move). More research should be done on this phenomenon though: does it only occur in caves (victory road and the connecting cave are the only places I've noticed it happening so far)? Which caves/areas does it occur in? What items can be found? What exactly are the requirements for breaking the rock? Are there other background objects that can be broken and what happens if they are?
Also it seems like this page should only contain overview information on this phenomenon (which I just added). Should we make a separate page for this? If so, what should it be called? I'll nominate "Background Objects" as the name for the phenomenon but if someone suggests a better name we should use it. I'll create a new page with whatever name in a couple of days if nobody objects.

:It also works on trees, sandpiles, rocks, grass, snowpiles and ice crystals. Each variation takes different moves to get the item. For example, whilst Surf works on stalagmites, it won't work on Berry Trees. ☆<span style="font-family:Algerian"><span style="color:green">The</span> <span style="color:red">Solar</span> <span style="color:blue">Dragon</span></span>☆ 19:05, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
:Thanks for the update. Do you have info on the variety of background objects that appear and which moves interact with which objects? Pmawhorter (talk) 02:18, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
I agree with Pmawhorter though maybe call them "Background items" to be more consistent. So far I've only found damp rocks using surf and muddy water on stalagmites, but there seems to be a lot more so I think a new page with a summary table would be good. == Recurring items split ==
Maybe instead of "Recurring items" it'd be "Recurring item", or "List of recurring items". I don't know. Thoughts on the title?
Anywho, the current section is a pretty horrible presentation. Basically any improvement on that presentation will make it longer, and it's the sort of thing that can stand very well on its own page. The section here can be reduced to a simple overview while the new page contains all the different items and better details for them.
I've currently got code for a good visual presentation of most of the recurring items, including gifts. It's at least as complete as the section here currently is (content-wise; I've not got the presentation for everything up to my standards at the moment).

:I'd be all for this should it occur, i like the current page idea you have going, I'm not a fan of pages of tables though, but in some cases it's unavoidable. --Spriteit (talk) 14:24, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
