Professor Jacuzzi's job was to stop all the {{p|Gulpin}} from eating all of his town's food supplies, which they did annually. The professor’s first plan involved a giant [[Pokéblock]] to lead the Gulpin away. However, {{TRT}} ended up stealing the Pokéblock and the Gulpin chased them out of town. The Gulpin then tried to escape through the sewer and emerge onto the street. Professor Jacuzzi arrived with a device that beams them up and shoots them away, but it broke down with one Gulpin left to go after accidentally beaming Ash's {{AP|Treecko|Sceptile}} along with the last Gulpin. Gulpin used {{m|Spit Up}} while inside the machine, which reacted with the particles and made both Pokémon become as tall as buildings. The two then continued their battle, although Treecko eventually returned to its normal size. Professor Jacuzzi, meanwhile, captured the Gulpin with a {{ball|Heavy}}.
