Due to a YouTube comment I decided to check if in Gen 3, the Pomeg Berry acted by depleting 10 EVs each time or lowering straight to 100 EVs like the article said. With A-Save I found that a Pokemon with 255 EVs went down to 245 EVs so Gen 3's behaviour works like Gen 5's.
