The '''Google Maps: Pokémon Challenge''' was a special event launched by {{wp|Google}} during [[April Fools' Day 2014]]. During the event, users of the Google Maps mobile application were given the ability to catch Pokémon scattered around the actual maps. Google's Pokédex consists of 25 Pokémon from each generation, nine of them being forms of [[starter Pokémon]], as well as {{p|Mew}}, who appears and roams after the user catches the other 150 Pokémon.

Announced in Google Asia Pacific's blog, it made use of social media like Twitter, Google+ and Facebook for promotion and communication with players.
