:Actually, at least in the Original series, there WERE animals. Besides, the Pokedex names for various Pokémon had to imply animals existed to some degree, and based on the implications of various Pokémon games, killing Pokémon is looked down upon. I'd like to note the existance of alternate versions of it, shown by the mentions of each other as alternate worlds in Black/Black 2 and White/White 2, what Zinnia says in the Delta episode and what Archie/Maxie says about them reawakening Kyogre/Groudon in another world, but I can't work out where it goes.
